Grist Mill and Power Plant

This building was constructed around 1857 and served as a grist mill (for grinding flour. The original granite stones were cut in Europe and brought around the Horn. Around the beginning of the 2oth century, the mill was converted to a power plant and made electricity until 1927. Image by Bonnie Fink
